The cushioning qualities found in NoTrax® matting that alleviates foot and lower back pressure, while stimulating blood circulation that helps to reduce stress on the lower back, leg joints and major muscle groups.
Chemical Resistance
The degree to which NoTrax® industrial matting products can withstand the erosive qualities of chemicals, oils, and greases found in applicable environments.
Decalon®
This NoTrax® exclusive fiber is made with a much higher denier polypropylene yarn. Products that are manufactured with Decalon® offer superb wear resistance, exceptional moisture retention and crisp, clean pattern appearance in coordinating colors.
Denier
Denier is defined as the thickness of the yarn strand. Combined with the face weight (ounces of yarn per square yard), and the density or volume of yarn strands, it is a critical factor in the performance, quality and durability of an entrance mat. NoTrax® competitors define their quality in terms of face weight only.
Dyna-Shield®
A revolutionary process perfected by Superior Manufacturing Group that creates a tough protective barrier on the surface of select foam anti-fatigue matting products. Dyna-Shield® mats have greater tensile strength, and are more resistant to wear than traditional sponge matting.
GSII
A technology that is incorporated into select NoTrax® industrial floor matting products allowing them to excel in the harshest industrial environments where aggressive chemicals, oils and greases are commonly found, and often times where traditional matting fails.
Needlepunch
A traditional manufacturing process for carpet matting, needlepunch is engineered with a unique blend of four denier thicknesses of yarn ranging from very fine to very thick. Needlepunch products are typically more durable, offering better crush resistance and wearability due to the density of the yarn used in the process.
Nitrile Rubber
A rubber compound specifically engineered for use in the harshest environments due to its increased resistance to many chemicals, oils, greases, and animal fats. Nitrile rubber also provides increased gas permeability, thermal stability, and abrasion resistance. Niru® is the NoTrax® trademarked name for Nitrile rubber compound.
PVC Compounds
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) is a plastic compound used to manufacture a variety of end products. PVC is known for its durability, moisture resistance, versatility and its ability to withstand harsh environments.
Tufted
A manufacturing process used for carpet matting, tufted products are sewn into a backing after using a finer yarn. Tufted mats generally are less dense and offer better moisture retention. Tufted products also have more flexibility with colors and patterns providing a more aesthetic finished product.
UniFusion™
A revolutionary bonding process that uses heat and pressure to fuse a floor matting top surface to a base material. The end result is a finished product that is virtually a single piece, thereby eliminating the possibility of de-lamination.
With three distinct patterns to choose from, these mats offer aggressive scraping action and the ultimate in moisture retention. As the name implies, AquaTRU™ are truer-sized mats giving you more mat (up to 15% more) and a better value.
There has never been an easier way to enhance your corporate image and give your logo, product or message the punch that it deserves. With vivid, rich colors and a limitless array of design capabilities, BrilliantStep Imagematting provides aesthetic appeal and a lasting impresion at the point of first contact with your company. . . your front door.
A program that outlines the key characteristics of a highly efficient matting system for Green Cleaning applications. Entrance mats are not currently Green approved products, however, they are considered an integral lead in product for an overall Green Cleaning strategy.
Safety/anti-fatigue matting that provides unmatched durability and outperforms the competition in the toughest environments by combining a 100% Nitrile rubber base offering the highest degree of resistance to chemicals, oils and greases, with a silicon carbide grit surface for long-lasting traction.
A kneeling mat that was designed for extreme kneeling applications such as gravel, asphalt, concrete, tile and wood flooring, providing ergonomic support by reducing trauma, stress and strain on the knees and lower back.
Identifies products that are manufactured with 100% recycled materials.
Denotes products that have been tested and certified by the National Sanitation Foundation for grease and oil protection and durability.
A family of safety matting products consisting of a series of specially formulated rubber compounds designed to attack the most difficult problems found for industrial applications. These mats are built for extreme requirements that may include the need for fire retardant matting, (ESD) anti-static/dissipative or conductive properties, anti-microbial matting or resistance to harsh industrial chemicals . . . even brake fluid.
A unique new lamination technology that incorporates heat and pressure to fuse the mat top surface to the foam base creating a virtually unbreakable bond, eliminating any possibility of de-lamination. This occurs when the top surface separates from the base material and can cause tops to buckle, or edges to curl, creating a trip hazard.
Icons denote certain characteristics and functionality associated with a specific mat.
Anti-Slip
Matting designed to provide added traction and safety by incorporating aggressive surface patterns and textures.
Anti-Static
Matting that's specially formulated to absorb static electricity.
Custom
Matting that's available in custom sizes and/or lengths.
Drainage
An open construction design that allows moisture and debris to drain through, providing secure footing especially in wet environments.
Ergonomic/Anti Fatigue
Matting that alleviates foot and lower back pressure, stimulating blood circulation that helps reduce stress on the lower back, leg joints and major muscle groups.
Food Processing
Matting suitable for use in food processing plants or areas where exposure to animal fats, greases and oils are common.
Food Service
Matting suitable for use in kitchens, bars and other food service areas where durability, grease resistance and drainage are a priority.
Non-Conductive
Formulated to provide insulation for the worker. It prevents the worker from being "grounded" and thereby preventing electrical shock.
Outdoor Use
Heavy-duty construction designed to act as a first line of defense against tracked-in dirt by scraping soil and moisture from shoes.
Welding
Mats made from durable rubber compounds that can be used in areas where welding takes place.
All NoTrax® floor matting products are subject to the following applicable tests, conducted by independent laboratories prior to their introduction to the market.
All NoTrax® carpet products passed the Flammability Test (PillTest DOC FF1-70)
Abrasion Resistance (ASTM D3884-92)
This is an accelerated wear test for NoTrax® products. Results are measured in weight loss.
Accelerated Soiling Test (ASTM D6540)
This test is designed to simulate the soiling of entrance matting under normal foot traffic.
Accelerated Wear Test (S.I.M Floor Machine)
Designed to simulate wear an entrance mat will receive under normal foot traffic. The results show the relative wear and crush resistance of the mat.
Coefficient of Friction (ASTM C 1028-89)
This test is designed to assess the slip resistance of our matting.
Compression Deflection (ASTM D3574)
This test assesses the anti-fatigue properties of industrial mats.
Critical Radiant Flux (ASTM E648-94A)
This test measures the level of radiant heat energy required to sustain flame propagation.
Elongation (ASTM D412)
This test measures the weight needed to break a mat and the percent of size increase at the breaking point.
Tear Strength (ASTM D1004)
This test measures the required force to initiate the tearing of a mat.
Water Retention
Designed to simulate the moisture retention of an entrance mat in actual usage. Tests are reported in gallons per square yard.
Between 70-80% of all moisture, dirt and debris
are brought into a facility on the bottom of one’s shoes. It has been recommended that at
least 15 feet of matting is required to remove the majority of dirt and debris from foot traffic. 15 feet of matting ensures that each foot will make contact with the matting at least 3 times providing adequate scraping and drying to stop most dirt and moisture at the entrance.
